2021 Event Information

During Halloween Horror Nights, the streets of Universal Studios Hollywood come alive with hordes of deranged beings. At this gruesome event, you can explore terrifying mazes, zones of monsters and maniacs, experience many of the park’s most exciting rides and attractions, and more.

These crowd levels only apply to Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights event.

Low crowds: September 16, 23, 30; October 7
Medium crowds: September 9, 12, 17, 19; October 14, 21, 28
High crowds: September 10, 11, 18, 24, 25, 26; October 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, 31

Enter the decaying remains of the aging mansion featured in Netflix’s The Haunting of Hill House, and experience the horrors within, including The Tall Man, The Bent-Neck Lady, and more.

2. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
The 1974 film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre returns to Halloween Horror Nights. Come face-to-face with Leatherface and his demented family and see if you can make it out in one piece.

3. The Exorcist
Relive the horrifying scenes of the classic 1973 horror film The Exorcist as 12-year-old Regan is possessed by a demon, sparking a battle between good and evil.

4. Universal Monsters: The Bride of Frankenstein Lives
The Bride of Frankenstein is stopping at nothing to revive Frankenstein’s monster, honing her diabolical genius one harvested body part at a time.

5. Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers
Michael Myers has returned to Haddonfield, spreading blood and mayhem in his wake. This time he’s unstoppable, and you can’t stop him, kill him, or escape from him.

6. The Curse of Pandora’s Box
Enter Pandora’s Curiosity Shop, where her infamous box lies, encapsulating an ancient horror that preys on those foolish enough to tempt the Fates with their curiosity and greed.

7. The Walking Dead
Enter the post-apocalyptic world of The Walking Dead, and prepare to fight for survival as you battle your way through the show’s iconic landscapes littered with walkers who have an appetite for the living.

8. Terror Tram: The Ultimate Purge
Climb aboard the Terror Tram, and prepare for your survival. Once you get off the tram, any and all crime is legal, and it’s every individual for themselves as masked and costumed marauders are out to ambush anyone outside.

Enjoy a live-action dance performance with mind-bending routines and acts.

1. Silver Scream Queenz
The Bride of Frankenstein has brought classic female movie monsters back from the grave to strike fear into the hearts of men.

2. Chainsaw Rangers
Bloodthirsty chainsaw-wielding maniacs are chasing down anyone they come across.

3. Demon City
A diabolical new nightclub, Inferno, has opened with demonic clientele straight from the Underworld.

1. Flight of the Hippogriff
Take flight on a family-friendly roller coaster that spirals and dives around the pumpkin patch and swoops past Hagrid’s hut.

Attraction details: This is a kid-friendly roller coaster ride.
Height requirement: At least 39 inches (99 cm); guests between 39 inches (99 cm) and 48 inches (122 cm) must have a supervising companion.
Recommended audience: Families with children
Overview: Although this attraction is geared towards kids, it’s fun for everyone, especially for those who can’t handle high-speed roller coasters but want to experience the fun of one in a tame manner.

2. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey
Enter Hogwarts castle, where you’ll recognize iconic locations. Then, soar above the castle, and join Harry Potter and his friends on an unforgettable adventure that puts you face-to-face with a dragon, dementors, and more.

Attraction details: This is a motion base dark ride.
Height requirement: At least 48 inches (122 cm)
Recommended audience: Teens and older
Overview: Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is probably one of the most innovative rides yet. It uses flight simulation, practical effects, computer graphic imaging, and more to immerse you into a magical world. The queue, storyline, and ride technology make for an exhilarating experience, and you don’t have to be a fan of the Harry Potter series to enjoy this attraction.

3. The Simpsons Ride
Crash, soar, and swoop your way through Krustyland and Springfield with the Simpsons family.

Attraction details: This is a simulator ride.
Height requirement: At least 40 inches (102 cm); guests between 40 inches (102 cm) and 48 inches (122 cm) must have a supervising companion.
Recommended audience: Families
Overview: The Simpsons Ride is a family-friendly simulator attraction that takes you through Krustyland and other iconic locations featured in the show. This is not a groundbreaking ride, but it is an enjoyable experience, especially if wait times are not long.

4. Jurassic World — The Ride
Enjoy a scenic water cruise that gives you the opportunity to encounter historic creatures, including the Mosasaurus. Your adventure gets far more intense, however, when an unforeseen event occurs.

Attraction details: This is a water raft ride.
Height requirement: At least 42 inches (107 cm); guests between 42 inches (107 cm) and 48 inches (122 cm) must have a supervising companion.
Recommended audience: Teens and older
Overview: This is a thrilling and amazing adventure. You’ll get an up-close look at creatures featured in the popular Jurassic World films, including the colossal Mosasaurus. Plus, you’ll go for an epic finale drop after an incredible encounter with an Indominus Rex and T-Rex.

5. Revenge of the Mummy — The Ride
Plunge into total darkness and face fireballs, scarab beetles, and an army of warrior mummies.

Attraction details: This is a high-speed roller coaster ride.
Height requirement: At least 48 inches (122 cm)
Recommended audience: Teens
Overview: What’s great about this coaster is that it has enticing sets and provides a thrilling experience. The entire ride takes place in a dark environment and includes effects like fog and fire; it’s a one-of-a-kind roller coaster.

6. Transformers: The Ride-3D
Fight alongside Optimus Prime and the Autobots to protect the Allspark and save Earth.

Attraction details: This is a 3-D motion base ride.
Height requirement: At least 40 inches (102 cm); guests between 40 inches (102 cm) and 48 inches (122 cm) must have a supervising companion.
Recommended audience: Everyone
Overview: This ride brings the Transformers characters to life with larger-than-life animation. You are completely immersed in the storyline with the use of simulation, practical effects, and more. Universal did a phenomenal job at combining so many different techniques into one ride.
