Universal Orlando Park-to-Park Touring Plan

Touring plans make it easy for you to get the most out of your trip by outlining the order you should visit park attractions and shows, allowing you to enjoy the top experiences there are.

This touring plan was created for those visiting both the Universal Studios Florida park and Islands of Adventure park within the same day; however, those visiting the parks for a longer period may still take advantage of this plan. This touring plan assumes that you are visiting from the opening time and staying until the closing time. Although this plan is specifically designed for those not staying on-site and for those without a Universal Express pass, which allows you to skip the regular lines at participating attractions, it may be still be used by such visitors.

Prior to visiting Universal Orlando, we recommend that you download the official Universal Orlando Resort app on the App Store or the Google Play Store. The app provides wait times, showtimes, a resort-wide map, and more.

You should fully review the information in this touring plan prior to using it to ensure the attractions you wish to experience are prioritized.

STARTING OFF

For the best experience, you should start your day at Islands of Adventure and then head to Universal Studios Florida via the Hogwarts Express. This will maximize your chances of experiencing the top attractions at both parks. It’ll also allow you to end your day with Universal Orlando’s Cinematic Celebration (if a show is scheduled during your visit), a nighttime spectacular that illuminates Universal Studios Florida with fireworks and celebrates the memories you can experience at the resort with music, water, lights, projection mapping, and other effects.

We recommend getting to the park turnstiles at least 25 minutes prior to park opening, especially on projected busy days. You can view the predicted crowd level for the day of your visit by using our FREE Universal Orlando crowd calendar. When you have entered the park, you can grab a guide map to help locate the resort’s attractions and shows and to view showtimes as well as other details. If you download the official Universal Orlando Resort app, this information and more can be accessed on it.

TIP: If you don’t have a Universal Express pass, you have the option to reserve a return time for Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon and Fast & Furious – Supercharged using Universal’s Virtual Line system. Doing so may reduce your time in line. Don’t rush your way to every attraction. Take time to enjoy the different areas of the park, especially The Wizarding World of Harry Potter areas in both parks. Cherish your memories by taking photographs with characters and at the various themed areas.

NOTE: It is not guaranteed that you’ll experience all of the attractions and watch all of the shows listed by following this touring plan. Because there may not be much time left in the day, we highly recommend skipping any attraction or show that you may not be interested in.

ON-SITE HOTEL GUESTS: We recommend taking advantage of early park admission to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Rather than visiting Skull Island: Reign of Kong first, you should visit Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey as well as Flight of the Hippogriff. Afterward, you can experience Skull Island: Reign of Kong and begin to follow the order of this touring plan.

UNIVERSAL EXPRESS VISITORS: Although you have the ability to skip the regular lines at most attractions, greatly reducing your wait times for the top experiences, following this touring plan will still allow you to visit the top attractions in an efficient way and will prevent you from making unnecessary detours.

GUESTS VISITING MULTIPLE DAYS: If you’re visiting the resort for more than one (1) day, we generally don’t recommend visiting more than one (1) park a day. We suggest that you should only visit just one (1) park per day to fully enjoy the experiences the different parks have to offer. If you decide to follow this recommendation, you can click/tap here to use our Universal Studios Florida touring plan and click/tap here to view our Islands of Adventure touring plan. If you still wish to visit both parks in a single day, we recommend sticking to this touring plan for the first day to ensure that you visit the top attractions. The next time you visit the parks, you can choose to revisit the attractions you enjoyed most or experience the attractions that you previously skipped.

How we determine the recommended audience:

The recommended audience for each experience is determined based on the intensity level and content. Intense roller coasters, for example, are generally recommended to teens. This is because this age group typically enjoys the thrill factor of such attractions; however, other age groups may enjoy such rides as well. Moderate roller coasters with immense detail, on the other hand, may be recommended to all audiences. Other attractions that we will recommend to all audiences include most simulator rides as they are less intense. We will suggest some attractions and shows for families if it’s an experience we think all members will appreciate. Experiences for young children are usually designed specifically for those under the age of six (6); whereas, experiences for children, in most cases, are intended for those 12 years of age and under. Each person, however, may find enjoyment in other experiences.
