Islands of Adventure Touring Plan

Touring plans make it easy for you to get the most out of your trip by outlining the order you should visit attractions and shows, allowing you to enjoy the top experiences in the park.

This touring plan was created for those visiting only the Islands of Adventure park for a single day; however, those visiting the park for a longer period may still take advantage of this plan. This touring plan assumes that you are entering the park at the opening time and staying until the closing time. Although this plan is specifically designed for those not staying on-site and for those without a Universal Express pass, which allows you to skip the regular lines at participating attractions, it may be still be used by such visitors.

Prior to visiting Universal Orlando, we recommend that you download the official Universal Orlando Resort app on the App Store or the Google Play Store. The app provides wait times, showtimes, a resort-wide map, and more.

You should fully review the information in this touring plan prior to using it to ensure the attractions you wish to experience are prioritized.

ENTERING THE PARK

We recommend getting to the park turnstiles at least 30 minutes prior to park opening, especially on projected busy days. You can view the predicted crowd level for the day of your visit by using our FREE Universal Orlando crowd calendar. When you have entered the park, you can grab a guide map to help locate the park’s attractions and shows and to view showtimes as well as other details. If you download the official Universal Orlando Resort app, this information and more can be accessed on it.

TIP: If you’re only visiting the park for a single day, we recommend eating breakfast prior to arriving at the park in order to experience more attractions. It’s important to remember, however, that you shouldn’t rush your way to every attraction. Take time to enjoy the different areas of the park, especially The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Hogsmeade. Cherish your memories by taking photographs with characters and at the various themed areas.

NOTE: It is not guaranteed that you’ll experience all of the attractions and watch all of the shows listed by following this touring plan. We recommend skipping any attraction or show that you may not be interested in.

ON-SITE HOTEL GUESTS: We recommend taking advantage of early park admission to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Rather than visiting Skull Island: Reign of Kong first, you should visit Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and then Flight of the Hippogriff. Afterward, you can experience Skull Island: Reign of Kong and begin to follow the order of this touring plan.

UNIVERSAL EXPRESS VISITORS: Although you have the ability to skip the regular lines at the attractions, greatly reducing your wait times, following this touring plan will still allow you to visit the top attractions in an efficient way and will prevent you from making unnecessary detours.

GUESTS VISITING MULTIPLE DAYS: If you’re visiting this park for more than one (1) day, we recommend sticking to this touring plan for the first day to ensure that you visit the top attractions. The next time you visit the park, you can choose to revisit the attractions you enjoyed most or experience the attractions that you previously skipped.

MOBILE ORDERING: If you’re dining at a quick service restaurant, you have the option to use Universal’s mobile ordering service at select locations via the Universal Orlando app. This will allow you to easily select your meal and quickly pick up your food.

How we determine the recommended audience:

The recommended audience for each experience is determined based on the intensity level and content. Intense roller coasters, for example, are generally recommended to teens. This is because this age group typically enjoys the thrill factor of such attractions; however, other age groups may like such rides as well. Moderate roller coasters with immense detail, on the other hand, may be recommended to all audiences. Other attractions that we will recommend to all audiences include most simulator rides as they are less intense. We will suggest some attractions and shows for families if it’s an experience we think all members will enjoy together. Experiences for young children are usually designed specifically for those under the age of six (6); whereas, experiences for children, in most cases, are intended for those 12 years of age and under. Each person may prefer different experiences.
