Overview
Southern California has long been recognized for its role in the movie and television industry. Many of the world’s most iconic entertainment companies, including Warner Bros., Walt Disney Pictures, and Paramount Pictures, were founded in the area. Southern California, however, is also popular for its vast collection of tourist attractions, such as the iconic Disneyland Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood. The region’s natural wonders, picturesque landmarks, compelling history, and exciting attractions draw in visitors from around the world.

Weather
August is typically the hottest month of the year with an average temperature of 85°F (29°C). December and January are the coldest months with an average high of 68°F (20°C). Expect sunny days throughout most of the year.

Transportation
Los Angeles provides Metro bus transportation for a small fee to many attractions throughout the region. Subway and light rail are also available to select areas, including Universal Studios Hollywood. A train and bus may be an option to visit Disneyland Resort, Knott’s Berry Farm, and Six Flags Magic Mountain from the Los Angeles area. Ridesharing apps, such as Uber and Lyft, and car rentals are also an option.
