At World of Universal, we strive to provide content that universally matters in travel and entertainment. We see it as a necessity to provide the best content for travel and entertainment and the most efficient vacation planning tools. We publish several new posts every month and update our vacation planning tools frequently to ensure the newest information is always available. Contributing to our site gives your work exposure and allows us to reach our goal.
We’re always looking for ways to attract new readers, and great, informative posts are the best way to do this. Whether you’re writing a post that shares your memories, publishing content that lists your ideas, writing a post about tips, or publishing news, you’re continuously attracting readers to our site and helping us be the ultimate source for information. We’re looking for writers interested in sharing their moments, ideas, tips, and anything related to theme parks (specifically the Universal theme parks and Disney theme parks), entertainment (such as newly released films), and other topics in travel (such as cruises).
Description: You are responsible for publishing new, informative posts to our website frequently that relate to travel destinations and entertainment. This includes covering topics in either Universal Orlando, Universal Studios Hollywood, Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort, cruising, and films released in theaters. You are expected to publish at least one new post every two months.
Acceptable content: Your posts may discuss your opinions on a topic (such as the best rides at Universal Orlando, reviews about a new ride or movie, etc.), facts (such as hidden Mickey’s in the Disney parks or the company’s history), news (such as an announced development or a reported development), rumors (such as a rumored attraction closure), your trip experience (for example, what you did during your vacation), as well as suggestions (like tips you recommend following and developments you believe should come to fruition).
Additional information: Writers MUST fact-check all posts containing news and facts and provide sources, if necessary. All posts containing tips should contain reliable information. All posts should contain limited grammatical errors. Posts may be written in the third person (this is most suitable for fact-based, news related, and rumor-based posts) or the first person (this is most suitable for reviews and opinion-based, experience-based, and suggestion related posts). Articles are to be at least 400 words in length (exceptions will be made if the post is news or rumor related and limited information is available) and written using several paragraphs that properly divide your information; your posts should not be written in one large paragraph. Each title for new entries should be designed to grab the reader’s attention, though clickbait is strongly prohibited. You may NOT use words, quotes, phrases, etc. in your posts that may be found inappropriate to some readers (this includes foul language and controversial topics).
Qualifications: Applicants are to be at least 15 years of age or older. Applicants must own a device capable of accessing our system to write and submit entries. Applicants must be reliable in responding to messages and meeting the requirement of one new post every two months.Apply Now
We believe photography is a great way to keep readers and followers engaged with our site and social media accounts. Photography provides a visual of what is occurring in the theme parks and other destinations, making it perfect for updates on developments as well as just showing viewers awe-inspiring sites. We’re largely interested in welcoming photographers to our team who will submit photos of park updates and sites throughout the parks.
Description: You are responsible for photographing construction as well as other updates, including minor changes, throughout the theme park(s) of your choice. You are also responsible for photographing scenery, structures, figures, food, merchandise, etc. at the theme park(s) of your choice. You are expected to submit new images whenever possible. Each submission should include at least six images.
Acceptable content: Images you submit may include construction of a new attraction or development, demolition of a structure, visible refurbishments in the parks, minor park updates (such as the removal of a statue or the addition of a new sign), sites in the parks (such as a photo of a ride, structure, or landscape) merchandise, food, or beverages.
Additional information: For this position, you may photograph any major theme park, including Universal Orlando, Universal Studios Hollywood, Walt Disney World, and Disneyland. You may also share your photographs from other travel destinations, such as cruises. This position may require you to go “off track.” For example, during the construction of Universal’s Volcano Bay water theme park, for high-quality images of the development, you would have been required to take a resort shuttle to Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort. Any and all photos submitted may not contain a watermark of any kind.
Qualifications: Applicants are to be at least 15 years of age or older. Applicants must live nearby the destination they wish to cover (for example, if covering Universal Orlando, you should live within at least an hour distance). Applicants must own an annual/seasonal pass to the destination they wish to cover. Applicants must own a DSLR camera to photograph images unless otherwise stated. Applicants must be reliable in responding to messages and submitting new photographs frequently.Apply Now
We’re looking for ways to stay above the competition, and videos help us do so. Videos provide a better vision of what is occurring in the parks, making it great for those who wish to see live images. We’re interested in welcoming videographers to our team who will submit videos of park updates as well as videos of shows and attractions in the theme parks.
Description: You are responsible for recording clips of construction and other updates at the theme park(s) of your choice, as well as new attractions and shows if permitted. You are expected to submit new videos whenever it is deemed necessary. Each submission should include at least one video that is at least one minute in length. However, this requirement may not apply to some requests, specifically those that only require a short clip for promotional purposes.
Acceptable content: Videos you submit may include construction of a new attraction or development, demolition of a structure, visible refurbishments in the parks, new attractions and shows, sites in the parks (such as a clip of a structure or landscape), or whatever is requested.
Additional information: For this position, you may record videos at only Universal Orlando, Universal Studios Hollywood, Walt Disney World, and Disneyland. However, you may also record videos onboard a cruise if we are notified and approve of it. Videographers may choose to speak in clips of park updates to explain what is occurring. This position may require you to go “off track.” For example, during the construction of Universal’s Volcano Bay water theme park, for high-quality clips of the development, you would have been required to take a resort shuttle to Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort. You are not to edit any clips submitted; videos are to be sent in their original form with no clip cuts, adjustments, or watermarks of any kind.
Qualifications: Applicants are to be at least 15 years of age or older. Applicants must live nearby the destination they wish to cover (for example, if covering Universal Orlando, you should live within at least an hour distance). Applicants must own an annual/seasonal pass to the destination they wish to cover. Applicants must own a DSLR camera or a camcorder to record videos. A monopod, tripod, or motion stabilizer is not required but recommended. Applicants must be reliable in responding to messages and submitting new videos when requested.Apply Now

If you wish to publicly display your social media account(s) on our website, you MUST keep your feed free of controversial topics, politics, religion, and anything that may be found inappropriate or offensive to our readers and followers (some foul language and negative reviews of a destination, attraction, film, or show are permitted). For example, if a park update is posted to our blog featuring numerous photos you submit, they will be credited under your team member account, which will display your name to our viewers. Should you depart from our team, the posts will then be credited to the default World of Universal account, but your name will be displayed at the bottom. If your photo is featured on our site in any other way, credit may not be given. Any photos you submit to us that are displayed on our social media accounts will be credited to your account of the same social media site (if one exists). For example, if your image(s) is/are shared on our Instagram page, your Instagram account (if you possess one) will be tagged (not captioned) in the image. On the other hand, if your image(s) is/are shared on our Twitter page but you do not have an account on that site, credit may not be given. Any videos you submit to us will not be given credit to you. We are a team, so we prefer to give the impression that all the content we share is the work of all our team members, but we do strive to give credit in most cases.
We reserve the right to reject any applicants, terminate anyone from the position they hold, edit and publicly post your content, refuse to post your content, and refuse to display or remove your displayed social media accounts. We reserve the right to use any of these mentioned entitlements with and without consent and explanation. Additionally, we may choose to edit the information on this page and add further details without notice. Team members automatically agree to any changes made.
*Please be aware that all positions are voluntary; team members are not paid for contributing. These positions are meant to provide a way for you to expose your work while providing content to thousands of theme park fans and visitors.
