Visiting Central Florida

Overview
Tourism is one of the main drivers of Florida’s economy. A great majority of visitors travel to the state to enjoy the many world-class attractions in the Central Florida region. Central Florida is known as the theme park capital of the world, home to exciting theme park destinations, including Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort. The region, however, also boasts numerous other tourist attractions beyond the theme parks. Central Florida’s countless attractions make it a popular destination for families.

Weather
During the summer months, temperatures can reach over 90°F (32°C). July is on average the hottest month of the year. January is typically the coldest month with an average high of about 72°F (22°C). Expect sunny days most of the year with occasional rain. Thunderstorms and hurricanes are likely during the summer and fall seasons.

Transportation
Utilize the Lynx bus for a small fee for transportation to many attractions throughout Orange and Osceola county, including Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando. Both theme park destinations provide complimentary transportation throughout their resort to guests staying on-site. The I-Ride Trolley provides an affordable way to access popular attractions on International Drive. Many hotels in the region may also provide buses to popular theme parks. Buses are an option to visit Tampa Bay from the Orlando area. Ridesharing apps, such as Uber and Lyft, and car rentals are also an option.
