On Monday, Universal Orlando filed a permit for a new 23,000 square foot Warehouse Building 79B. Parkscope.net reports that the current Building 79 is often where Universal Orlando places Halloween Horror Nights houses. They predict that Universal Orlando will construct a new warehouse building to demolish the current Building 79 so that the resort can place a Nintendo themed area in that location and Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone (rumored at this point). This stunt will most likely not affect Halloween Horror Nights as future houses could be placed in the new 23,000 square foot warehouse building.
Universal Orlando may be planning to construct a new Building 79 so that they could demolish the current Building 79, which is located right outside of Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone. By doing this, they will have more room to expand their Universal Studios Florida theme park without wasting a large empty lot. The already announced Nintendo-themed attractions may just replace Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone and the current Building 79. Nintendo rides and their placement have not yet been announced, but we expect the Nintendo area to contain attractions based on the popular Mario franchise. Nintendo is expected to replace the KidZone area because it is kid-friendly and will make a fair replacement for the outdated area.
