Recently, Universal Orlando changed the way they categorized their on-site hotels. Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort was once categorized as a value priced and moderately priced on-site hotel while every other on-site hotel was categorized as a deluxe on-site hotel. Now, the system is completely different.
Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort is now categorized as a prime value on-site hotel rather than a value and moderately priced hotel. Loews Royal Pacific Resort is now categorized as a preferred on-site hotel (the second most expensive on-site hotel) rather than a deluxe on-site hotel. The Hard Rock Hotel and Loews Portofino Bay Hotel are now categorized as premier on-site hotels (the most expensive on-site hotel) rather than deluxe on-site hotels. The soon to open Loews Sapphire Falls Resort is categorized as a preferred on-site hotel, however, unlike Loews Royal Pacific Resort (which was downgraded in its categorization), Loews Sapphire Falls Resort will not offer free Universal Express passes while Loews Royal Pacific Resort will continue to. Both Loews Royal Pacific Resort and Loews Sapphire Falls Resort are categorized as preferred on-site hotels, but Loews Sapphire Falls Resort will not offer the same benefits.
