Universal Studios Hollywood 2-Day Touring Plan

Vacation is a precious thing, which is why we created this 2-day touring plan to help you get the most out of your trip to Universal Studios Hollywood. This plan highlights the rides and attractions you should experience, the shows recommended for you to watch, and the restaurants you should try during your trip to the park. This touring plan assumes you are visiting from park opening and that you have not purchased a Front of Line pass, which allows you to skip the regular lines at participating rides and attractions.

Day One
Entering Universal Studios Hollywood
We recommend getting to the park turnstiles at park opening, especially on busy days. You can view the crowd level during your visit by using our FREE Universal Studios Hollywood crowd calendar. You may grab a guide map once you have entered the park to help locate the park’s activities.

1. Ride Transformers: The Ride-3D
Attraction details: This is a 3D motion base ride. Guests must be at least 40 inches in height to ride. This attraction is recommended for everyone.

2. Ride Revenge of the Mummy – The Ride
Attraction details: This is a high-speed roller coaster ride. Guests must be at least 48 inches in height to ride. This attraction is most recommended for teens.

3. Ride Jurassic Park – The Ride
Attraction details: This is a water raft ride. Guests must be at least 42 inches in height to ride. This attraction is most recommended for families.

4. Ride the Studio Tour
Attraction details: This is a behind-the-scenes tram tour. This attraction is recommended for everyone.

5. Eat lunch at Three Broomsticks
Restaurant details: Three Broomsticks (located in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter) serves fish and chips, pie, rotisserie chicken, turkey legs, and more.

6. Visit Ollivanders
Attraction details: This is an interactive magical experience. This attraction is recommended for everyone.

7. Watch Special Effects Show (view show times)
Show details: This is a behind-the-scenes live show. This show is recommended for everyone.

8. Watch Universal’s Animal Actors (view show times)
Show details: This is a live action show. This show is most recommended for families.

9. Watch WaterWorld (view show times)
Show details: This is a live stunt show. This show is recommended for everyone.

10. Eat dinner at Gru’s Lab Café
Restaurant details: Gru’s Lab Café (located near the Despicable Me Minion Mayhem attraction) offers rotisserie chicken, sandwiches, and more.


Day Two

1. Ride Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey

Attraction details: This is a 3D motion base dark ride; it simulates dramatic aerobatics. Guests must be at least 48 inches in height to ride. This attraction is recommended for everyone.

2. Ride Flight of the Hippogriff
Attraction details: This is a kid-friendly roller coaster ride. Guests must be at least 36 inches in height to ride. This attraction is most recommended for families with young children.

3. Watch a live performance in Hogsmeade
Show details: Hogsmeade features about two live shows – Triwizard Spirit Rally (stunt show) and Frog Choir (live musical performance).

4. Explore The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade

5. Watch Shrek 4-D
Attraction details: This is a 3D show that includes physical effects. This attraction is most recommended for families.

6. Experience The Walking Dead Attraction
Attraction details: This is a walkthrough attraction containing sudden scares. This attraction is most recommended for older audiences.

7. Eat lunch at Mel’s Diner
Restaurant details: Mel’s Diner (located near The Walking Dead Attraction) offers burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries, and more.

8. Ride Despicable Me Minion Mayhem
Attraction details: This is a motion base ride. Guests must be at least 40 inches in height to ride. This attraction is recommended for families.

9. Visit Super Silly Fun Land
Attraction details: This is an interactive play area, featuring water-play features, arcade games, and more. This attraction is recommended for families with young children.

10. Ride The Simpsons Ride
Attraction details: This is a motion-based ride. Guests must be at least 40 inches in height to ride. This attraction is recommended for families.

11. Re-ride your most beloved attractions and/or watch a live show you have not yet seen

12. Eat dinner at Hollywood & Dine or Plaza Grill
Restaurant details: Hollywood & Dine (located near Universal Blvd.) sells burgers, stir fry, sandwiches, pizza, and more. Plaza Grill (located near Universal Plaza) serves hot dogs, chili dogs, burgers, fries, and more.
