Last weekend, Universal Studios Hollywood hosted the 27th Annual “Christmas in Spring” Philanthropic Event. The event is designed to bring goodwill to low-income families.

At this year’s charity event, sponsored by Universal Studios Hollywood and its Discover A Star Foundation, families supported by M.E.N.D. (Meet Each Need with Dignity) were provided with custom-prepared food; interactive festivities such as carnival games and a live DJ; and special character appearances from Santa Claus, the mischievous minions, King Julien, SpongeBob SquarePants, Scooby Doo, and more.

The participation of hundreds of Universal Studios Hollywood employee volunteers helped bring heartfelt holiday cheer to 1,000 M.E.N.D. families. The “Christmas in Spring” event, since its start, has benefited over 16,000 family members living in poverty in the San Fernando Valley.

This year’s charity event took place on Saturday, June 2nd at the M.E.N.D. facility in Pacoima, California.
