With Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights event just about two weeks away, it’s time to start preparing for the horror. Yes, even panicking requires planning. With thousands of horror fans from around the area, nation, and globe attending, it’s essential that you do so, especially when visiting the nation’s premier Halloween event. This year’s event will consist of nine houses, five original scare zones, and two outrageous live shows.

People will be “dying” to get in

Halloween Horror Nights is known for being the nation’s premier Halloween event; it has received the Golden Ticket Award for the best Halloween event eight years running. While you can purchase your tickets to the event at the gates, we highly recommend purchasing them in advance. This will guarantee you a ticket and save you time and money.

Be one of the first victims

If you’re going to Universal Studios Florida as a daytime guest on a Halloween Horror Nights night and you possess a ticket for the event on that night, stay in the park and wait at one of the designated “Stay and Scream” locations. Guests with a daytime ticket and a Halloween Horror Nights ticket are permitted to stay in the park at designated locations as security empties out the park from regular guests. Doing this will allow you to be one of the first to experience the open haunted houses, which means shorter wait times.

If you do not have a daytime ticket, head to the park gates anywhere from 40 to 80 minutes early to be one of the first to enter. Please be aware that the lines to get into the parking garage and guest drop off may be long. The event begins at 6:30 PM on all nights but that doesn’t mean you should arrive at 6:30 PM.

Satisfy your stomach before entering—monsters enjoy victims with a full appetite

Eat before arriving at the event. Doing this will allow you to spend more time enjoying the event rather than wasting valuable time eating a meal. Food in the CityWalk complex and off-site may also be more affordable than the restaurants in the park depending upon where you eat.

Monsters care about their safety

Prior to entering the complex, all bags will bypass an x-ray machine (in the parking hub only) and all guests will be required to walk through a metal detector. All objects in your pockets are to be emptied and placed in the given containers. Costumes, masks, selfie sticks (policy introduced last year), and weapons will not be allowed in the park.

Frightened victims should not enter

Halloween Horror Nights may be found frightening to some individuals. If you are likely to injure someone when getting frightened, this event is not meant for you. If you do not like the pleasure of being scared, this event is not meant for you. If you do not enjoy horror movies, this event may not be for you. If you prefer a traditional Halloween experience, this event may not be for sure. Halloween Horror Nights is an event meant to scare you. The “scare actors” usually look for the most frightened individuals to get a good scare out of them.

The monsters are eager to meet their victims

Lines to enter the haunted houses can receive extremely long lines. Purchasing Halloween Horror Nights Express is highly recommended if your budget allows for it, especially if you plan on visiting for only one night on a busy night. Halloween Horror Nights Express allows you to skip the regular lines at all haunted houses and participating rides and attractions.
