The Incredible Hulk Coaster closed in September 2015 to undergo a major refurbishment. Universal laid out plans to develop a new storyline, new ride vehicles, and an entirely new experience. This summer, the coaster will reopen with just that — a brand new story, new ride vehicles, an all-new queue, and a completely redesigned entrance. All that remains of the original Hulk Coaster are the world-famous twists and turns of the track layout.

New Entrance

The new entrance to the Incredible Hulk Coaster will feature a massive figure of the Hulk lifting the coaster’s ride vehicle and holding together pieces of the track, which were salvaged from the original ride.

Redesigned Queue

From the new entrance to the redesigned queue, the entire experience is different. Once you pass the towering Hulk statue, you’ll make your way into a state-of-the-art military research compound, commanded by General Thaddeus Ross, who is conducting bio-radiological experiments. When inside, you’ll pass laboratories containing high-tech equipment that General Ross’ team uses to conduct tests. Following this, you’ll arrive at the Gamma core, an energy source that sends radiation to fuel the general’s experiments. Later in the queue, you’ll witness the transformation of your predecessors as they undergo a “Hulk-a-fication” process. Lastly, you’ll be taken to a loading platform where the Gamma accelerator will blast you with superhuman strength.

All-New Storyline

General Ross is in search for volunteers to execute a new experiment. The experiment calls high levels of gamma radiation through a process called “Hulk-a-fication,” a potentially life-altering process. When the test is complete, subjects should have magnificent strength and a forceful amount of energy

Brand New Ride Vehicles

Along with the redesigned entrance, queue, and all-new storyline comes the brand new ride vehicles, which have been given a sleek, modern look. On board is an in-seat audio system that will play an original ride score created by the lead singer of Fall Out Boy, Patrick Stump. Next, you’ll rocket through a new launch tunnel, equipped with special effects.
